Newly Qualified Secondary Teachers

In Newham we work hard to offer NQTs the best possible support during those crucial early years. We offer a comprehensive programme of training with ready access to professional advice.

The In-service Education Centre, the Credon Center, provides induction courses. Topics are set on the basis of feedback from the previous years´ cohort of NQTs, ensuring that the issues covered are relevant and timely. You will have plenty of opportunities to talk over your experiences in the classroom with experienced teachers, teacher trainers and specialist advisors.

Day to day advice, guidance and support comes from your personal induction tutor ­ an experienced colleague from your own school.

From the outset you will have access to the Credon Centre, centrally located near Upton Park tube. Here experienced staff can advise you on areas of the curriculum as well as any specific issues that arise ­ whether it is about using IT or approaches to teaching bilingual learners.
