Applying to a Taster Course

Before applying to a taster course, you will need to contact the Teacher Training Agency to ask for a TIL number. Please phone 0845 6000 991.

Further information on entry into teaching, including Taster Courses, is available from the TDA. They also run regular events. The TDA can be contacted on 0845 6000 991 or www.tda.gov.uk.

The next courses will be held as detailed above and details will be uploaded during the first or second week of the prior month. If you wish to be put on a list to be contacted nearer the time please email the Recruitment Strategy Team

Minority Ethnic

Newham was successful in its bid to run courses aimed at people from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, although we welcome eligible applicants from all backgrounds.

Men into Primary

We are part of a successful bid to run a course for Men into Primary alongside Tower Hamlets and University of Cumbria. Due to restrictions in funding for this course we are able to accept applications only from male graduates resident in Newham or Tower Hamlets.

The next men into Primary Taster will be held in the Autumn Term 2009. Details will be posted nearer the time.

Secondary Priority Subjects

We are part of a successful bid to run a course for Secondary Priority Subjects alongside University of East London (UEL). Current priority subjects are Science, Maths, Design & Technology, ICT, Modern Foreign Languages and RE.

Our next Secondary Priority Taster will be held in Autumn 2009. Details will be posted nearer the time.
